Jute is a long, soft, Bast fibre that  can  be spun  into coarse, strong threads. It is produced primarily  from plants  in  the  genus Corchorus.  Jute fibre comes from  the stem and ribbon of the  Jute  plant,  the  fibres are first extracted by the retting process.
